Here is my lesson on gratitude. Gratitude is hard for me. It’s one of those things that I know help me, but for some reason, I put at the bottom of my todo list. Yet, when I’m in the thick of chaos, when my anxiety is high, when everything seems to be going wrong…the best way out is gratitude.
A few years ago, during the height of the pandemic, a friend of mine would text me randomly throughout the day. The text would simply say, “three things.” My response had to be three things I was grateful for in that moment. The three things centered me. The brought me back to the realization that despite the chaos – there was good in my life too.
Thanksgiving is a great time for us all to take stock in what we have. To remember gratitude. To take a minute and remember today why we are thankful. This is my lesson on gratitude. So here are my three things today:
- I have a family and friends to care for me and support me.
- Two friends received excellent news from their doctors this week.
- Even though my boys are getting older – they still snuggle with me.
What are your three things?
