Summer is winding down and we’ve had a break from the heat. This means it’s the perfect time to find adventures on Kent Island! We enlisted the help of Jr Reporter, Mason, age 9, to tell us about his favorite park on Kent Island
My favorite park on Kent Island is Mowbray Park, and it’s located off of Route 8 near Matapeake Elementary School. It’s less than a mile from my home so it’s easy to get to. I like this park because it never gets too crowded, and it has two playground areas.
One area is for little kids and one for older kids like me. The park is fenced in with restrooms nearby. It also has a tennis court and covered picnic areas if you want to bring snacks along. During after-school days I would see some of my friends playing there. I really enjoy the slides and the jungle gym near the swings. I’m always looking forward to going back and making new friends.
