Make Holiday Cards for Nursing Home Residents
Create Holiday Cards for Nursing Home Patients: Spend an afternoon as a family creating handmade holiday cards for residents in local nursing homes. Many healthcare facilities welcome these cards to uplift the spirits of patients during the holiday season. You can drop them off to either Queenstown Landing Assisted Living Home or Arcadia Assisted Living in Chester.
Donate Blankets to Bubba’s Blankets
Since 2012, Bubba’s Blankets has distributed thousands of blankets to men, women, and children battling cancer. This project was founded by Jimmy Myrick Jr. who passed away in 2016, after a five year battle with leukemia, was inspired by the simple gift of a blanket. Finding strength to inspire hope and others fighting cancer, Jimmy distributed cozy blankets to fellow patients. Jimmy’s elves continue his legacy of love by collecting and distributingblankets for UMMC Greenbaum Cancer Center (MD), UPenn Abramson Cancer Center (PA), and Childrens National Medical Center Pediatric Oncology (DC). Click HERE to donate blankets today!
Voluneering during the holiday season not only makes a positive impact on others but also creates lasting memories for your family. Grab your family and friends and help out with these volunteer opportunities on Kent Island!
