Kent Island Kathy’s Apple Pie Sangria

Fall is upon us and last week we asked the LOCALs on if they were team pumpkin or apple. It was an overwhelming response with the shiny fruit that comes in all the colors of autumn, the apple. Which got me thinking about my favorite things apple. Of course there is the traditional apple pie, but I will be the first to tell you that I CAN NOT bake, but I am pretty good at drinking and love coming up with new sangria flavors. So, I decided to turn America’s favorite pie into a drink – Apple Pie Sangria!

A few years ago we were attending a pot luck style Thanksgiving party and I was in charge of drinks! I don’t know what that says about me, but we will go with FUN! So, with the pressure on, I went to the interwebs and found myself on searching for the perfect concoction that would embrace tradition but pop with uniqueness to please a crowd. We showed up with Apple Pie Sangria and boy was it a hit! It taste just like apple pie and is ridiculously smooth. Perhaps a bit dangerous, so be warned.

Apple Pie Sangria Recipe

6 ingredients


  • 2 Apples

Baking & Spices

  • 1 Cinnamon stick, whole
  • 3/4 cup Whipped cream vodka or caramel


  • 3 cups Apple cider

Beer, Wine & Liquor

  • 1/4 cup Apple vodka
  • 1 bottle White wine

Easy as Pie!

Cut fruit and mix in wine, cider, and vodka. Let sit for at least 2 hours. Add ginger ale just before serving. Garnish with cinnamon sticks and serve over ice.
